Alex Shaw
Coach
Alex Shaw is a Quinte Skating Club alumnus beginning at the age of 4 and skating fifteen years with QSC. While skating she volunteered as a Program Assistant (PA) helping to support the club that was so integral to her life. Alex returned as a coach with the Quinte Skating Club and has spent the past 8 years supporting new and experienced skaters as they ‘reach for the stars’. Prior to coaching at QSC Alex coached in Prince Edward County and Trenton – the return to Quinte felt like coming home for her! Alex has been the carnival coordinator multiple times for the Quinte Skating Club and has devoted time supporting club special events like the Christmas Skating Party for the Star Skaters. Her commitment to sports is further evidenced by her role on the local soccer board as statistician and her own dedication as a long-time soccer player and team coach’s rep. Alex skated for 5 years on the Prince Edward synchro skating team, before that skating one year with the St. Catharine’s Synchro Team.
Alex, as a busy mother of 3, is an Early Childhood Educator in a kindergarten class. This, combined with her devotion to her skaters, is evidence of her passion for teaching and working with children.

Janice has been teaching skating lessons for the past 37 years. She teaches all levels: CanSkate, Powerskating, STARSkate Intermediate and Senior skaters and Competitive skaters. Janice also coached an adult Synchro team for four years as well as individual lessons to adult skaters.
Janice enjoys the sport because it develops the physical and mental ability of each individual skater.
